11/1/1985: The 1985 Chevrolet Cavalier was launched. This was the first vehicle to have front and rear bumper fascias molded from TPO. The material was Himont ETA3041.

11/4/1986: Hoechst AG of West Germany acquired Celanese Corporation of America to form the worlds largest chemical company which would be called Hoechst Celanese.
